Noble Intentions

Make sure to bookmark this page. It will be updated regularly as new Noble projects are published. Feel free to leave praise for Jack at the bottom of the page!

Initially, there were two planned series featuring Jack Noble: the Noble Intentions series and the Jack Noble novels. This caused some confusion over which order the books should be read, etc. This page has been updated to reflect the newest number system (Jack Noble #1, Jack Noble #2, etc.) and is also a chronological listing of these stories, but not the order in which they were written. Those who have followed along since the beginning know that I like to go write out of order.

JACK NOBLE SERIES

Noble Beginnings (Jack Noble #1)

In March of 2002, while the eyes of the world focused on Afghanistan, Jack Noble finds himself on the outskirts of Baghdad, Iraq. A Marine in name only, Jack is on-loan to the CIA. Normally an integral part of the team, he finds that he is nothing more than a security detail in Iraq. Jack and his partner Bear have a run-in with four CIA special agents over the treatment of an Iraqi family. Within hours Jack and Bear are detained.

All Jack wanted was to finish his enlistment and move on with his life. All he did was intervene and save a family from unwarranted violence at the hands of four CIA agents. But he soon discovers that he did far more than intervene. He has placed himself dead square in the middle of a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of the U.S. government.

Thanks.
The series sounds really interesting. I am glad I found on The eReader Cafe.

    Hi Cindy,

The books take place before the episodic series. Noble Beginnings occurs before A Deadly Distance, but you can read either first. Noble Intentions you’d want to do Season One, then Season Two. Then again, mixed up could be fun 🙂

And Season Three is almost ready.

Oh Sheryll whichever order you read them all does not really matter. it did not to me. all that mattered was Jack and Bear. i fell in love with them both. determined to read the whole set and will cry for more once i’m done. i don’t know about you but one word springs to mind: addictive! i have been recommending any and every LT Ryan book to my friends. yet of all they call me a choosy reader! yet of all i’m a total and utter bookworm!

After reading so many accolades to the author, there’s not much more one can add. When I find an author with a series that endears the hero to the reader, I become sad when realizing the I’m almost at the end. I’ve recently discovered several who have whetted my appetite and caused me to devour them much too quickly; Jack Noble being one of them.
A side note, it really does pay to offer a ‘freebee’ through the e-services, as that is how most of us discover the wonderful authors and their stories out there, reinforcing the old addage: if you will write, we will read it!

Wow, thanks, Mitchell. I appreciate the kind words. Yes, it can be tough to reach the end of the series, we are fortunate to have entered a time when authors are no longer restricted to one book a year. I’m hard at work on the next Jack Noble novel, and hopefully I’ll get one more out before the year is over.

Glad you found Jack, and hope you stick around for the ride.

There is a Jack Noble book that will be coming out in February tentatively titled Thin Line. Chronologically, it fits between A Deadly Distance and Noble Intentions Season One. It contains some back story for Season Four. In fact, I stopped Season Four to write this book because I couldn’t make the back story fit in a couple pages. Needed around 250 🙂

I expect Season Four to be ready by late March or early April.

I started with Noble Beginnings as a free kindle book and was immediately hooked. Have since read all three seasons, the 2nd novel and the Clarissa book. Will be reading The Recruit next. I cannot wait for season 4 and the rest of the novels. I love these books!

How fun to escape the “hum-drum” life I lead and go flitting around the world and country with Jack and Clarissa; chasing down danger, escaping in the knick of time and forever on the move. Of course, if they were to try and live the day-to-day of my life as a full-time working mom of three boys with a husband, house, cat, dog and hamster, perhaps they would view their lives as “hum-drum”. Perspective is a wonderful thing!

Jack would never survive. Ferrying kids to soccer, ballet, this play date, that mall, pick up the dry cleaning, oh we need a gallon of milk stop and get it … Pretty sure he’d rather deal with espionage 🙂 Bear, I could see him managing and sulking to his man-cave. Clarissa can do anything. I’m sure of that one.

Great to hear you are enjoying this series so much, Karen! Plenty more on the way 🙂

Sorry to keep you hanging like this. As I began Season Four, it became apparent that the backstory between Jack and a new character was too much for the book. So I set out to write a novella or short novel on it. That turned into 450 page book and is with the editor right now. Meanwhile, I am working on Season Four and am more than halfway through.

On the plus side … you’ll get 900++ pages of Jack Noble within 4 or 5 weeks of each other!

All I can say is I am an absolutely massive fan.

Thankyou ever so much for providing such brilliant entertainment.

I love your books and just made up a list of all of your book that I have read and now see that I have read all but two (One Shot (which I just purchased, and Bad Luck and Trouble). Now I am starting to get the shakes realizing that I am about out of your books. I guess I will go back thru and re-read, which I have done already a few times.
Please keep Jack Reacher going.

I’m a serious crime fan and once finding an author whose style I like, I usually read all of their books. However I’m dreading running out of your books, as I devour them at an incredible pace and now only have a few left to go! I love your style, your choice of characters, plots and the twists and turns. Your books are a true pleasure to read and I so look forward to Clarissa Abbot no 2 and Noble Intentions series 5 (fingers crossed). Brilliant stuff, L.T. Ryan. Thank you!

Love the Noble series. I tell everyone about them. I just found the series and have just finished Season 4, including Clarissa Abbot. All great reads!

I also just read Mitch Tanner. Can’t wait for #2.

PS Jack Reacher…great response!

Reacher – yeah, I get that every once in a while … that at Jack Ryan 🙂

Well, hurry!! I’m scrounging for good reads!!:)

I just read one of my previous go-to-series, and honestly, after your writing style, it fell short of keeping my attention…and, I’ve been reading them for 15 years!

I think one of the things I like most about your writing style, is how its original and there’s no “fluff” or filler, it’s all relevant to the story…and you don’t follow the same template: boy cop, meets girl in danger, rescues girl, and they live happily ever after!! We never know where we’re going to end up with Jack!

Looking forward to the next Jack, Clarissa, and Mitch, and would love to read more about Bear and Mandy!

      Have a great week!

Just completed season 1. What a thrilling captivating story. I started it last night before bed and this morning I picked it back up and couldn’t put it down until I was done. I didn’t get dressed, eat or even brush my teeth. It was that good. Just downloaded season 2 plus several others. This should be a movie series.
OK, now I’m prepared. Eat, Brush, Read. Got it.

Thanks for Jack Noble LT. Absolutely love the series. Right up there along book versions of Bond, Bourne and Reacher. Its true the character would make a great movie – but the written version is always so much more powerful. Bond is a great example of this. cannot wait for next book after season 4 and death in Greece.

If I were to compare to other authors I have read. Gritty like Ludlum. Thrilling like Clancy, without being so wordy.
Am looking forward to season 3.
Thanks and please continue with the characters.

Great to hear that you’re starting writing again. Best advise I can give is to sit down and hammer out the words, writing the story you want to write, and ignoring your internal editor for the first draft. Get the story out, then go to work fixing it.

Two weeks ago I gor a free copy of the 1st Jack Noble Book (courtesy of Bookbub). I was traveling from DC back to FL and started reading it at the airport. By the time I’d landed I had finished the book and while waiting for my bags purchased the rest of your books from Amazon. This afternoon I finished the last. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed Jack’s adventures. However, now that I’ve finished I feel like I’ve lost a close friend. Any chance of more Jack, Bear, Clarissa, Sasha, et.al? Thank you for a very enjoyable two weeks.

Since the sad death of one of my favorite authors, Vince Flynn, I have searched for an author with a similar writing style and story-lines as Flynn’s. Your writing has come the closest that I have found. Being a huge Mitch Rapp fan I found many similarities with Jack Noble that has made me just as big a fan.

I really enjoyed the Jack Noble series as well as Noble Intentions. I was wondering if there are plans to make NI into a TV series since it appeared to be written in episode format. I know I would watch it if it were. Thanks for writing these thrilling novels and I look forward to reading future Noble novels.

Hope this note finds you well Mr. Ryan. Just wanted to inquire about Clarissa. I find her development really fascinating. Was it always your intention to have her become a stand-alone or did that just kind of happen? I must admit I was a tad bummed by her split from the Jack & Bear duo, but, ultimately get the reasons she must go her own way. Oops, hope that last wasnt a spoiler for those still reading the books.

What happened to Affliction Z? Read the series and loved it. However, you left us hanging with a promise for a sequel in Spring of 15 .. A year later still nothing. Not cool. Glad to see all of your success but please remember that the readers become vested in your stories and to just drop it and move on is disrespectful to the time we spent with you.

Reply
    L.T. Ryan - May 26, 2016

Sorry that it’s not cool. Affliction Z is still in the plans. I have not dropped anything, and I do not plan on dropping anything. Sometimes life gets in the way, even for a writer. I could have banged out a half-assed story to meet a deadline, but delivering a tome with no soul would have been even more disrespectful than missing a deadline. I’d much prefer to put the right story out there.

There’s an update on the afflictionz.com homepage if you’d like more information.
