What I’m Up To… – L.T. Ryan

What I’m Up To…

A page so you can keep up with what I’m doing, reading, and working on…

What We’re Doing

I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the Super Bowl. It’s been a long 13 years since the Eagles last made an appearance. Me and my football watching buddy (lil’ Francesca) can’t wait!

I’ve also been lucky enough to have been asked by that same young football fan to escort her to the annual father-daughter valentine dance, where she hopes I am thoroughly humiliated by the staff during one of the dress the dad up in a tutu part of the program. Can’t wait!

Taxes! Corporate taxes are no joke. I just hand everything over to my wife and lock myself in my office and tell her I’m writing all. week. long. Fortunately, business is pretty straightforward for us.

I’m planning our traditional (her word) Daddy-Daughter trip with Francesca. Trying to decide on our next location. Last year was D.C. She’s asking to go to Philly or New York this year, which could be fun. I can fly to both places non-stop out of C’Ville, so that helps. I’m also looking at options for a fall cruise, though those options are limited to Disney. With all this work I’m getting done, a vacation is going to be very welcome come October.

What I’m Writing

My main project at the moment is the fourth installment of Affliction Z. I’m a *bit* behind on this one. In my defense, life was pretty crazy 2014-2016. I finally feel like I’m back on track, and once this book is done, I’ll be caught up again!

I’m busy plotting out the second Bear book. Bear is flying solo on this one, which promises to be pretty gritty and full of international intrigue.

Working on the storylines for Jack Noble #13. Explosive. For real.

What I’m Reading

Just finished The Green Mile again. Man, that book moves me. Such a wonderful tale, and beautifully written by Mr. King. I recently purchased it on audio, too, and think I’m going to give it a listen later this Spring or Summer.

I’m now reading Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Soon to be a major motion picture. I. love. this. book. If you grew up in the 80s, or just love 80s pop culture, you’ll enjoy this book. The footnotes section after the first chapter had me cracking up. This will be one I return to a few times over the coming years.

My current non-fiction read is Storytelling Made Easy. Yes, even after 20 novels, I’m still learning and honing my craft.

What I’m Watching

Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. If you life Jerry, you’ll love this show. If you love cars, you’ll love this show. If you love coffee, well, you’ll go to bed thirsting for your AM cup of java! And for creative types, a couple of episodes are a masterclass, so pay attention.
