Jack Noble · Short story
The Recruit
Before the covert assignments, Jack Noble faces Marine Corps recruit training. His talent has not made him popular with the instructors or the other recruits, and a difficult summer in South Carolina is about to take another turn. This short story visits an early part of Jack’s military life, on a scale distinct from the full-length Noble novels.
