Bear & Mandy Logan

By L.T. Ryan and K.M. Rought

Bear Logan wants a life beyond the work that made him dangerous. His adopted daughter Mandy wants a place in that life, on her own terms. Their fresh start in upstate New York becomes a mystery when Bear uncovers human remains at home. Written by L.T. Ryan and K.M. Rought, these books bring a resourceful father-and-daughter pair into towns where the past is still somebody’s business.

For readers who want family relationships at the center of a mystery, capable characters with complicated histories, and small communities whose secrets carry real danger. Start here when the Bear-and-Mandy partnership is what draws you in.

Close to Home introduces this series through Bear and Mandy’s new life in a small town. Its discovery of human remains brings them into contact with local sheriff Josephine McKinnon and a mystery reaching beyond their own property. It is the clearest starting point for the family-and-investigation focus of these books.

Continue with Under the Surface and The Last Stop, then follow the numbered list. Bear’s protective instincts and Mandy’s resourcefulness are central to the appeal, so reading forward from their first book gives those characters room to develop alongside the cases. Over the Edge is Book 4; Close to Home remains Book 1.

Readers coming from Jack Noble or Bear Logan will recognize the wider background. Keep the three series’ numbering separate rather than adding these books onto Bear Logan as Books 5 onward. The Books 1–3 collection gathers Close to Home, Under the Surface, and The Last Stop; it does not add a fourth story to that opening sequence.
